Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our Bulk carrier vessels, responsible for maintaining and operating engine room machinery. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will also assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties at sea will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engine room machinery, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of engine performance and maintenance activities. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel.
- Must have a strong knowledge of engine room machinery and systems.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must hold a valid medical certificate.
