The 2nd Engineer assists the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining the main propulsion and auxiliary machinery of a 30,000‑dwt bulk carrier. You will ensure plant reliability during voyages carrying dry cargoes such as coal, grain or ore.
Monitor engine performance, conduct routine inspections and carry out preventive maintenance on diesel generators, pumps and compressors. Record all operational data in the engine log and report any deviations to the Chief Engineer. Participate in watch rotations, respond to alarms and support emergency drills.

Requirements
- OK- Valid STCW 1995 certificates and a current 2nd Engineer CoC
- OK- Minimum 2 years sea service as 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel
- OK- Knowledge of IMO regulations, MARPOL and shipboard safety management systems
- OK- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and schematics
- OK- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
