Role overview
We are seeking a skilled 2nd Engineer to join our team on a Bulk carrier. The 2nd Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engine department. This is a key role that requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills.
The 2nd Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of engine room machinery, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and oilers, and providing training and guidance as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of engine performance and maintenance activities.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel type.
- Must have a strong knowledge of engine room operations and maintenance.
- Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
