Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's machinery and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include monitoring and maintaining the vessel's engines, pumps, and other machinery, as well as performing routine maintenance and repairs. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for managing fuel and water supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in drills and training exercises to prepare for emergency situations.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
