The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will also assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties at sea will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and equipment, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance, and maintaining accurate records of engine operations and maintenance. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and oilers, and providing guidance and training as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.

Requirements
- OKMust hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- OKMust have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel
- OKMust have a strong understanding of engine operations and maintenance
- OKMust be able to work independently and as part of a team
- OKMust hold a valid medical certificate
