Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Chemical tanker, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's machinery and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of chemical tanker operations and safety protocols. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines, pumps, and other machinery. They will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling the vessel's fuel and water systems, as well as performing checks on the vessel's safety equipment. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs, and to report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate for a 2nd Engineer on a Chemical tanker
- At least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a similar vessel type
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering and chemical tanker operations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in marine engineering or a related field preferred
