Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Container Ship, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and related equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will also assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the main engine, auxiliary engines, and other equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling the vessel's fuel consumption and emissions. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in safety drills and training exercises to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a container ship.
- Must have a strong knowledge of engine maintenance and repair procedures.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be proficient in English and have good communication skills.
