Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The 2nd Engineer will report to the Chief Engineer and be responsible for a range of tasks related to the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engines and associated equipment.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's machinery, monitoring the performance of the engines and associated systems, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for managing the vessel's fuel and lubricant supplies, and for ensuring that all engineering operations are carried out in accordance with the company's safety and environmental policies. The 2nd Engineer will also participate in drills and training exercises to ensure that they are prepared to respond to emergencies.

What we look for
- A valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel
- A strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices
- A valid STCW certificate with tanker endorsement
- A high school diploma or equivalent
