Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's machinery. This role involves working closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain and repair equipment. The 2nd Engineer will also be involved in planning and implementing maintenance schedules.
The day-to-day duties of the 2nd Engineer include monitoring and maintaining the vessel's engines, pumps, and other machinery, as well as performing routine inspections and repairs. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for managing a team of junior engineers and oilers, providing guidance and training as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel
- Must have a strong understanding of engine room operations and maintenance
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Must hold a valid medical certificate
