Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a crude oil tanker, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently. The 2nd Engineer will also assist the Chief Engineer in managing the engine department.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines and equipment, monitoring and optimizing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for training and supervising junior engineers and motormen. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will participate in drills and exercises to prepare for emergency situations.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine operation and maintenance.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
- Must be proficient in English.
