Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a oil/chemical tanker. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and experience with marine engines and equipment. The 2nd Engineer will assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining the vessel's engines and systems.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines and equipment, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The 2nd Engineer will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and oilers, and participating in drills and training exercises. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will maintain accurate records of engine performance and maintenance activities.

What we look for
- Holder of a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- At least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a oil/chemical tanker
- Strong knowledge of marine engines and equipment, including troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in marine engineering or a related field preferred
