Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our oil/chemical tanker vessels. This role involves overseeing the maintenance and operation of the ship's engines and related equipment. The 2nd Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer and plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines and associated systems, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance. They also supervise junior engineers and engine room crew members, providing guidance and training as needed. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer is responsible for maintaining accurate records of engine performance and maintenance activities.

What we look for
- Hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer
- Have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on oil/chemical tankers
- Possess a strong understanding of engine maintenance and repair procedures
- Have excellent communication and leadership skills
- Hold a valid medical certificate
