Role overview
The 2nd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our oil/chemical tanker vessels. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the ship's engines and associated equipment. The 2nd Engineer will work closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain the vessel's mechanical systems.
The 2nd Engineer's day-to-day duties include performing routine maintenance and repairs on engine room equipment, monitoring fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance. They will also be responsible for supervising junior engineers and motormen, as well as participating in safety drills and training exercises. Additionally, the 2nd Engineer will maintain accurate records of engine performance and maintenance activities.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 2nd Engineer.
- At least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on oil/chemical tankers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
- Valid medical certificate and ability to pass a drug test.
