Additionally, the 2nd Engineer is responsible for training and supervising junior engineers and motormen.

Requirements
- OKMust hold a valid Chief Engineer's certificate of competency or a Second Engineer's certificate of competency.
- OKMust have at least 2 years of experience as a 2nd Engineer on a tanker vessel.
- OKMust have a good understanding of engine maintenance and repair procedures.
- OKMust be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- OKMust hold a valid STCW certificate, including tanker endorsement.
