Role overview
The 2nd Officer is a key member of the navigation team on a Container Ship, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. This role involves working closely with the Master and other officers to plan and execute voyages. The 2nd Officer will also be involved in cargo operations and deck maintenance.
The day-to-day duties of the 2nd Officer include navigating the vessel, updating charts and publications, and conducting safety drills and training exercises. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the vessel's navigation and communication equipment. Additionally, the 2nd Officer will participate in cargo watches and contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of the vessel.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 12 months of experience as a 2nd Officer on a similar type of vessel.
- Must have a good understanding of ISM and ISPS codes.
- Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be physically fit and able to work at sea for extended periods.
