Role overview
The 2nd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a Container Ship, responsible for navigating the vessel and ensuring the safety of the crew, cargo, and ship. This role requires strong navigation and communication skills. The 2nd Officer will work closely with the Master and other deck officers to achieve safe and efficient operations.
The 2nd Officer's day-to-day duties will include maintaining navigational charts and publications, conducting safety drills and training, and participating in cargo operations. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for standing watch, monitoring vessel systems, and reporting any issues to the Master. Additionally, the 2nd Officer will assist with maintenance and repair tasks as needed.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate
- 2 years of experience as a deck officer on a merchant vessel
- Strong knowledge of navigation, cargo operations, and safety procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent
