Role overview

The 2nd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a crude oil tanker, responsible for navigating the vessel and ensuring the safety of the crew, cargo, and ship. This role requires strong navigation and communication skills. The 2nd Officer will work closely with the Master and other officers to achieve safe and efficient operations.

The 2nd Officer's day-to-day duties at sea will include navigating the vessel, maintaining navigation equipment, and keeping accurate records of the ship's movements. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for supervising deck crew members during cargo operations and maintenance tasks. Additionally, the 2nd Officer will participate in drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
