Role overview
The 2nd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for supporting the Chief Officer and Master in all aspects of navigation and cargo operations. This role requires a high level of professionalism and adherence to safety protocols. The 2nd Officer will also be involved in planning and executing cargo loading and discharging operations.
The day-to-day duties of the 2nd Officer include navigating the vessel, maintaining navigational equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for supervising deck crew members and participating in drills and training exercises. Additionally, the 2nd Officer will maintain accurate records of navigation, cargo, and safety activities.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate
- 2 years of experience as a deck officer on a merchant vessel
- Good knowledge of navigation, cargo handling, and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent
