Role overview
The 2nd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a Pure Car Carrier vessel, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the ship. This role involves navigating the vessel, managing cargo operations, and maintaining deck equipment. The 2nd Officer will also be involved in planning and executing voyages.
The 2nd Officer's day-to-day duties at sea will include navigating the vessel using a range of electronic and traditional navigation aids, monitoring and maintaining safety equipment, and supervising deck crew members. The 2nd Officer will also be responsible for conducting safety drills and training exercises, and for maintaining accurate records of the vessel's operations. Additionally, the 2nd Officer will be required to respond to emergencies and take charge of the bridge in the absence of the Chief Officer.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have at least 12 months of experience as a deck officer on a merchant vessel
- Must have a good understanding of cargo operations and navigation
- Must be proficient in the use of electronic navigation aids and safety equipment
- Must hold a valid medical certificate and be fit for duty at sea
