Role overview
The 3rd Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a bulk carrier, responsible for the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engines and associated equipment. The role involves working closely with other engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. Bulk carriers present unique challenges due to their cargo and operating patterns.
The 3rd Engineer's day-to-day duties include performing routine maintenance tasks, monitoring engine performance, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. They will also be responsible for maintaining records of engine performance and maintenance activities. Additionally, the 3rd Engineer will participate in drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.

What we look for
- Must hold a relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 3rd Engineer.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 3rd Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine maintenance and operation.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
