Role overview
The 3rd Officer is a key member of the deck team on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the ship. This role involves navigating the vessel, maintaining deck equipment, and supervising cargo operations. The 3rd Officer will also be involved in planning and executing voyages.
The day-to-day duties of the 3rd Officer include navigating the vessel using a range of equipment and techniques, maintaining accurate records of the ship's movements and activities, and conducting regular safety inspections. The 3rd Officer will also be responsible for supervising junior crew members and contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the ship. Additionally, the 3rd Officer will be involved in cargo planning and operations, including loading and discharging cargo.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate as a 3rd Officer
- At least 2 years of experience as a junior officer on a merchant vessel
- Good knowledge of navigation, cargo operations, and safety procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on mathematics and science subjects
