The 4th Engineer assists the engine department in operating and maintaining the main and auxiliary machinery of a dry‑bulk carrier. The role supports the chief and 3rd Engineer in ensuring the plant runs efficiently and complies with regulations.

Monitor fuel and lubrication systems, carry out routine inspections, and perform scheduled maintenance on generators, pumps and compressors. Record all engine parameters in the daily log and report any deviations to the 3rd Engineer. Support watch‑keeping crew during engine‑room watches as required.

Requirements

  • OK- STCW 2010 certificates including Engine Room Watchkeeping (ERW) and Advanced Fire Fighting
  • OK- Valid 4th Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by a recognized maritime authority
  • OK- Minimum 12 months sea service as junior engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel
  • OK- Ability to read and complete engine‑room documentation, including daily logs and maintenance plans
  • OK- Good English communication skills and basic computer literacy
