Role overview

The 4th Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the maintenance and operation of the vessel's engines and associated equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 4th Engineer will work under the supervision of the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.

The day-to-day duties of the 4th Engineer include performing routine maintenance tasks, such as checking and replacing filters, lubricating equipment, and monitoring engine performance. The 4th Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing faults, as well as assisting with cargo operations and other tasks as required. Additionally, the 4th Engineer will be expected to keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
