Role overview

The 4th Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our Heavy-Lift Carrier, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's machinery and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 4th Engineer will work under the supervision of the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.

The day-to-day duties of the 4th Engineer include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines, pumps, and other machinery, as well as monitoring and analyzing the performance of these systems. The 4th Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, and for participating in safety drills and training exercises. Additionally, the 4th Engineer will work closely with other members of the engine department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.

  • Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a 4th Engineer on a merchant vessel.

  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with other crew members.
  • Must hold a valid medical certificate and be able to pass a drug test.
