Role overview
The 4th Engineer is a key member of the engine department on a oil/chemical tanker, responsible for maintaining and operating the vessel's machinery and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices. The 4th Engineer will work under the supervision of the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The 4th Engineer's day-to-day duties will include performing routine maintenance and repairs on the vessel's engines, pumps, and other equipment. They will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the vessel's fuel and lubrication systems, as well as performing watches in the engine room. Additionally, the 4th Engineer will assist with cargo operations and other tasks as required by the Chief Engineer.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) certificate of competency
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a 4th Engineer on a merchant vessel
- Must hold a valid STCW certificate in proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be physically fit and able to pass a medical examination
