Role overview
The Bosun is a key member of the deck crew on a Bulk carrier, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel's deck and superstructure. This includes ensuring all equipment is in good working order and that the deck is safe and secure for cargo operations. The Bosun will work closely with the Chief Officer to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
The Bosun's day-to-day duties will include supervising deck maintenance, managing the vessel's paint locker and store rooms, and participating in cargo operations as required. The Bosun will also be responsible for ensuring the vessel's safety equipment is in good working order and that all crew members are aware of their roles in emergency situations. Additionally, the Bosun will be involved in planning and executing maintenance tasks, including dry docking and repairs.

What we look for
- Valid STCW/CoC certificate as Bosun or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience as Bosun on a bulk carrier or similar vessel
- Good knowledge of cargo operations and deck maintenance
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
