Role overview
The Bosun is a key member of the deck team on a General Cargo Vessel, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the ship. This role involves supervising deckhands and ensuring all deck operations are carried out safely and efficiently. The Bosun reports directly to the Chief Officer.
The Bosun's day-to-day duties at sea include supervising cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and performing routine maintenance tasks. The Bosun is also responsible for ensuring the deck is safe and secure at all times, and for coordinating with other departments as needed. Additionally, the Bosun will participate in drills and training exercises to maintain emergency preparedness.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate as Bosun or Able Seafarer
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role on a cargo vessel
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness to perform demanding deck tasks
