Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management position responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine department on an AHTS non DP vessel. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer will report directly to the vessel's Master.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance, troubleshooting engine issues, and managing fuel consumption to ensure efficient vessel operation. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for implementing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's STCW certificate of competency is required.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel is necessary.
- A strong understanding of engine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting is essential.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills are required to manage a team of engineers.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a degree in a relevant field being an advantage.
