Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a key role on a Bulk carrier, responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the vessel's engine department. This includes ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and equipment. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for managing a team of engineers and motormen.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties at sea will include monitoring and maintaining the vessel's main engine, auxiliary engines, and other critical systems. They will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements, and troubleshooting any issues that arise. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will be required to keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Engineer's STCW certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel.
- Must have a strong knowledge of engine room operations and maintenance.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
