Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management level position on a Bulk carrier, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the Captain and other senior officers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing engine problems, and managing fuel consumption. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for implementing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate as Chief Engineer
- At least 2 years of experience as Chief Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel type
- Strong knowledge of engine maintenance and repair procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage a team of engineers
- High school diploma or equivalent required
