Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior officer responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the vessel's engine department on a Bulk carrier. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage the engine crew. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the Captain and other officers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance, troubleshooting engine problems, and managing fuel consumption. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for implementing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will conduct regular inspections of the engine room and associated equipment to identify potential issues.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Engineer's STCW certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a bulk carrier or similar vessel type.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine maintenance and repair procedures.
- Must be able to lead and manage a team of engineers and oilers.
- Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
