Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management position on a Container Ship, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the ship. The Chief Engineer will work closely with other departments to achieve this goal.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include managing the engine room, supervising junior engineers, and performing routine maintenance and repairs. They will also be responsible for monitoring fuel consumption, managing spare parts, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will investigate and resolve any technical issues that arise during the voyage.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency (CoC) is required.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- Strong knowledge of engine room operations, maintenance, and repair.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A strong commitment to safety and environmental protection.
