Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management position on a Crude oil tanker, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the Captain and other senior officers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include planning and scheduling maintenance, supervising engine room operations, and troubleshooting technical issues. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for managing the vessel's fuel consumption and optimizing engine performance. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will conduct regular safety inspections and training drills to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by a recognized maritime authority.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a tanker vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of engine room operations, maintenance, and repair.
- Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in English and have a good understanding of international maritime regulations.
