Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management position on a Crude oil tanker responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the Captain and other senior officers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance and repairs of the main engine, auxiliary equipment, and other machinery. They will also be responsible for managing fuel consumption, monitoring performance, and implementing cost-saving measures. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will conduct regular safety inspections and drills to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by a recognized maritime authority
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a tanker vessel
- Strong knowledge of engine maintenance, repair, and operation
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in marine engineering or a related field preferred
