Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our Fast Support Intervention Vessel, responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the ship's engines and machinery. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The Chief Engineer will work closely with the captain and other crew members to achieve this goal.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing engine and machinery issues, and managing the engine department's budget and resources. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, as well as implementing and enforcing the company's maintenance and repair policies. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will provide training and guidance to junior engineers and other crew members as needed.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's STCW certificate of competency.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- A strong understanding of engine and machinery operations, as well as safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in marine engineering or a related field preferred.
