Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a key member of the engine department on our General Cargo Vessel, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ship's machinery. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills. The Chief Engineer will work closely with other crew members to ensure the vessel is operated in compliance with all relevant regulations.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties will include overseeing routine maintenance and repairs, managing fuel consumption, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for training and supervising junior engineering staff. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will work with the captain and other officers to plan and execute voyages.

What we look for
- A valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency is required.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- A strong understanding of engine management and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
