Role overview

The Chief Engineer is a senior management position on a Crewell LNG vessel, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the ship's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The Chief Engineer will work closely with other departments to achieve this goal.

The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and managing the engine department's budget. They will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, as well as training and supervising junior engineers. Additionally, the Chief Engineer will participate in cargo operations and other critical shipboard activities.

  • A valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by a recognized maritime authority.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.

  • A high level of physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
