Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management level position on a LPG vessel, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the ship's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer must also ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance, troubleshooting engine problems, and managing fuel consumption to optimize vessel performance. The Chief Engineer is also responsible for training and supervising junior engineers and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth vessel operations. Additionally, the Chief Engineer must be prepared to respond to emergencies and make critical decisions to ensure the safety of the vessel and its crew.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Engineer's STCW certificate of competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.
- Must have a strong understanding of LPG vessel operations and safety procedures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced maritime environment.
