Role overview
The Chief Engineer is a senior management position on an oil/chemical tanker responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine department. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. The Chief Engineer must also ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
The Chief Engineer's day-to-day duties include overseeing routine maintenance and repairs, managing fuel consumption and emissions, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth vessel operations. The Chief Engineer is also responsible for training and mentoring junior engineers and ensuring that all engine department personnel are aware of and follow safety procedures. What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Engineer's Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by a recognized maritime authority.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer on a similar type of vessel.

- Must have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers.
