Requirements
- OKLead the engineering team in the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and onboard systems.
- OKEnsure all engineering systems comply with Indian and international maritime regulations (IMO, ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.).
- OKOversee technical performance of vessels or shipyard engineering teams, ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency.
- OKManage dry docking, vessel repairs, and planned maintenance schedules.
- OKProvide technical expertise during newbuild projects, retrofits, or conversions.
- OKCoordinate with ship classification societies, flag states, and port authorities as needed.
- OKPrepare and manage engineering budgets, reports, and operational documentation.
- OKImplement and monitor preventive maintenance systems and technical audits.
- OKSupervise and mentor junior engineers and onboard technical personnel.
- OKLiaise with suppliers, service providers, and technical vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions.
- OKClass I Marine Engineer (MEO Class 1 COC – Unlimited) or equivalent professional marine engineering qualification.
- OKMinimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including sailing experience as Chief Engineer and/or shore-based technical management.
- OKDeep understanding of marine engineering systems, ship operations, and statutory regulations.
- OKExperience with maintenance and repair of marine engines, generators, HVAC, ballast systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- OKFamiliarity with planned maintenance systems (PMS), safety management systems (SMS), and marine ERP tools.
- OKStrong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- OKAbility to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and lead diverse technical teams.
- OKWillingness to be based in India and travel nationally and internationally as required.
