The Chief Officer is a senior officer on a Bulk carrier responsible for overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master and other crew members to achieve this goal.

The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties at sea include supervising cargo loading and discharging, monitoring deck maintenance and repairs, and conducting safety drills and training exercises. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel and standing in for the Master in their absence. Additionally, the Chief Officer will maintain accurate records of cargo operations, deck maintenance, and safety drills.
