The Chief Officer will be the second‑in‑command on a modern container ship operating worldwide trade routes. He/she will support the Captain in safe navigation, crew management and compliance with all maritime regulations.

Daily duties include supervising cargo loading and unloading, overseeing deck operations, and maintaining the ship’s stability and safety equipment. The role requires conducting watch rotations, performing bridge watchkeeping and ensuring proper documentation of cargo and voyage data. The officer will also lead safety drills, manage maintenance schedules and act as the primary liaison with the shoreside team.

Requirements

  • OK- Valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency (COC) for a container vessel, STCW 2010 endorsement
  • OK- Minimum 3 years recent experience as Chief Officer or Senior Officer on a container ship of 5,000 + TEU
  • OK- Proven knowledge of cargo operations, stowage planning and loadable weight calculations
  • OK- Familiarity with IMO regulations, ISM Code, and electronic navigation systems (ECDIS, GMDSS)
  • OK- Good command of English, both written and spoken, and ability to work in a multicultural crew
