Role overview

The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations on a crude oil tanker. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for managing a team of deck crew members.

The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties will include planning and executing cargo loading and discharging operations, performing safety inspections and drills, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and vessel operations. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations. Additionally, the Chief Officer will be required to respond to emergencies and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
