Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the General Cargo Vessel. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Chief Officer will also assist the Master in making key decisions regarding the vessel's operation.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, performing safety drills and training exercises, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and deck operations. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and ensuring that all safety equipment is properly maintained. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections of the vessel's hull, superstructure, and equipment to identify any potential maintenance issues.

What we look for
- Hold a valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency issued by a recognized maritime authority.
- Have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a General Cargo Vessel.
- Possess a valid medical certificate and be physically fit for duty at sea.
- Have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Have a strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS and ISM.
