Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member on a General Cargo Vessel responsible for overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve this goal.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharge, maintaining deck equipment and stores, and performing safety drills and training exercises. They will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and maintaining the vessel's navigational equipment. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency
- At least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a similar type of vessel
- Strong knowledge of cargo operations, deck maintenance, and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
