Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member on a General Cargo Vessel responsible for overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master and other crew members to achieve this goal.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharging, maintaining deck equipment and cargo gear, and performing safety drills and training exercises. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and maintaining accurate records of cargo and deck operations. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a General Cargo Vessel.
- Must have a valid STCW certificate, including survival craft and rescue boat training.
- Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
