Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior officer on a General Cargo Vessel responsible for overseeing cargo operations and deck maintenance. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve these goals.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharge, maintaining deck equipment and cargo gear, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during cargo operations and performing watchkeeping duties. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular safety drills and training exercises for the crew.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a similar type of vessel
- Must have a strong knowledge of cargo operations and deck maintenance
- Must have excellent leadership and communication skills
- Must be proficient in English
