Role overview
The Chief Officer is a senior crew member responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. This role involves overseeing cargo operations, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Chief Officer will work closely with the Master to achieve these goals.
The Chief Officer's day-to-day duties include supervising cargo loading and discharge, performing safety drills and training, and maintaining accurate records of cargo and vessel operations. The Chief Officer will also be responsible for navigating the vessel during the Master's absence and ensuring that all deck operations are carried out safely and efficiently. Additionally, the Chief Officer will conduct regular inspections of the vessel's deck and cargo gear to identify and report any defects or maintenance needs.

What we look for
- Must hold a valid Chief Officer Certificate of Competency
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Chief Officer on a similar type of vessel
- Must have a strong knowledge of cargo operations and safety procedures
- Must have excellent communication and leadership skills
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced maritime environment
