Role details About the Role A specialist maritime recruiter is pleased to be partnered with a leading name in marine insurance and claims management, as they seek an experienced Damage Cargo Claims Handler to join their established team.
Requirements
- OKManaging a portfolio of cargo damage claims from first notification to final settlement.
- OKInvestigating liability and quantum by reviewing contracts of carriage, survey reports, and shipping documentation.
- OKLiaising with clients, insurers, surveyors, freight forwarders, and third-party suppliers.
- OKProviding clear, professional advice on claims strategy and settlement negotiations.
- OKSupporting subrogation and recovery efforts in collaboration with legal teams.
- OKMaintaining detailed and accurate claims records through internal systems and reports.
- OKMinimum 2 years' experience in marine or cargo claims handling, ideally with a focus on damage-related cases.
- OKStrong understanding of bills of lading, INCOTERMS, shipping contracts, and claims procedures.
- OKExcellent communication and negotiation skills.
- OKAbility to work independently and manage multiple claims concurrently.
- OKBackground in insurance, shipping, or maritime law is highly desirable.
- OKIT literate with experience using claims or case management systems.
- OKHave the full rights to live and work in the EU.
