Role overview
The ETO is a key member of the engineering team on a Bulk carrier, responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic equipment. This includes navigation, communication, and cargo handling systems. The role requires a strong technical background and the ability to work independently.
The ETO's day-to-day duties at sea include performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic systems, troubleshooting faults, and testing equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly. The ETO will also be responsible for maintaining records of maintenance and repairs, and ordering spare parts as needed. Additionally, the ETO will assist the Chief Engineer with other engineering tasks as required.

What we look for
- Relevant STCW/CoC certificate, such as an Electro-Technical Officer certificate.
- At least 2 years of experience as an ETO on a merchant vessel.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including navigation, communication, and cargo handling systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
